Structural Insulation Foam Blocks
LAST-A-FOAM® R-9300 Continuous Insulation Block
The R-9300 Continuous Insulation Block Series is a high-density rigid cellular polyurethane block designed to support structural loads while insulating buildings. Cellular polyurethane is a natural insulator and formulated in these high-density blocks, it provides the strength to support large compressive loads with little deflection. At the same time, it offers economical, code-required continuous insulation that reduces loads on cooling equipment for lower energy costs.
A wide range of compressive strengths satisfies industrial and cold-storage thermal construction applications: 350 psi, 500 psi, 1,000 psi, 1,500 psi, 1,800 psi, and 2,100 psi.
The R-9300 series extends the building insulation envelope from the roof to the foundation below ground. Even at the high densities required for support of column-bearing loads and precast/tilt-up wall panels, these structural foam blocks will provide thermal insulation value superior to lightweight concrete, treated wood blocks, and other traditional materials. They are commonly used as thermal isolation load-bearing blocks in concrete footings within refrigerated warehouse structures. As insulated structural support for roof equipment, roof perimeter fall protection and chiller tanks, they minimize both thermal transfer and condensation.
R-9300 blocks are delivered to contractors ready to use. They arrive at the job site cut-to-size, predrilled with anchor-bolt holes, and marked for fast and easy placement. This eliminates waiting for cutting or drilling before moving onto the next construction step, saving precious time.

Applications
STRUCTURAL THERMAL COLUMN Bearing BLOCK
LAST-A-FOAM® R-9300 Continuous Insulation Blocks are designed to support heavy and structural loads while maintaining thermal control within industrial building interiors. Made of proven, high-density rigid cellular polyurethane material, these construction thermal blocks are ideal for cold-storage facilities. They combine high compressive strength with little deflection and extraordinary thermal insulation.
BRICK/BLOCK VENEER STRUCTURAL BLOCK
Our structural insulating blocks have the high-compressive strength necessary to support the load of a brick or block wall. It also reduces the thermal transfer between a building’s insulation envelope without thermal bridging at the base of the wall.
CANOPY/MANSARD iSOLATION BLOCK
Our high-density polyurethane foam blocks maintain continuous insulation when a structural steel member penetrates the wall insulation envelope. The blocks have high compressive and shear strengths, and will not rot, decompose or promote steel corrosion.
INSULATED METAL PANEL REINFORCEMENT BLOCK
These insulated metal panel (IMP) floor reinforcement blocks provide economical load-bearing shelving support inside cold-storage facilities while preventing thermal energy loss between the floor and ground. IMP blocks eliminate the need for other thermal protection, such as gypsum foam. We provide blocks to your specified dimensions.
EQUIPMENT SUPPORT BLOCK
Placed on top of the building’s roof, these insulating blocks support HVAC and other heavy equipment while preventing radiant heat transfer to the building’s interior. This added insulation keeps the building interior cooler and reduces the load on cooling equipment, lowering utility costs.
PERIMETER FALL PROTECTION BLOCK
Our R-9300 polyurethane blocks when installed as part of the roof insulation stack or placed beneath railing supports of the roof, eliminate thermal bridging and maintain continuous roof insulation. . These are custom-cut with pre-drilled anchor-bolt holes for securing to the surface of existing roof structures. The high-density material provides greater load-bearing ability and durability than wood while preventing cold air from escaping through concrete supports for perimeter posts.
PRECAST /TILT-UP STRUCTURAL BLOCK
Our R-9300 Series prevents thermal energy transfer between the building and ground when installed under precast and tilt-up concrete walls. Because these insulating construction thermal blocks offer excellent load-bearing ability and durability, only a few are required to support each wall. This eliminates wasted material while preventing costly energy loss.
