LAST-A-FOAM® Tooling Board Series for Mold Manufacturing

TACOMA, Wash., June 03, 2013 – General Plastics Manufacturing Company will be participating in the Amerimold Expo 2013 in Rosemont, Illinois, and exhibiting June 12-13 at booth 313 with distribution partner Blackhawk Sales Co. The two companies will spotlight General Plastics’ LAST-A-FOAM® FR-7100 Core and Modeling Board, LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4500 Tooling Board, and LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4700 High-temperature (400 ºF) Tooling Board Series.

“This is a great opportunity to introduce our LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4700 HT Tooling Board Series to the Amerimold mold manufacturing market,” explained General Plastics President Bruce Lind.

LAST-A-FOAM® FR-7100 Core and Modeling board is a uniform foam that is easily finished or painted for low-cost core applications, hand-carved models, prototypes, CNC-machined topographical maps, composite layup tools <200 ºF and industrial patterns.

LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4500 Tooling Board is a family of tough, high-density polyurethane substrates useful in making master models, rapid prototypes, mold and foundry patterns, and composite tooling – applications in which a uniform, grain-free, dimensionally stable and highly machinable material is desired.

LAST-A-FOAM® FR-4700 High-temperature Tooling Board Series supports prepreg composite layup tooling for high-temperature applications up to 400 ºF. Ideal for prototype machining, vacuum forming, pattern making and limited tooling runs. “We anticipate strong interest in our FR-4700 products because its higher heat-deflection temperature rating makes it suitable for use in vacuum-forming applications where other urethane products may soften or deform,” Lind noted. “Our distributor partner is extremely knowledgeable on the high-density, heat-deflection properties and can assist in the proper cost-effective solution.”
