This new product is now available in regular production quantities. It is much superior in performance to our FR-10100 series foams in tooling applications. See the Product Data Sheet for specific properties. FR-10700 material has temperature resistance higher than any of our current products, making it useful for many applications where other urethane formulations fail by softening or warping out of shape. FR-10700 Tooling Board exhibits good performance under 300-350F temperatures and autoclave pressures to 90 psi, allowing use with pre-preg materials as a lay-up mandrel, or post-curing fixture. It’s superior temperature resistance also makes it useful in thermo-forming operations, especially for short-run projects, or developmental tools. At 30 lbs. per cubic foot density, FR-10730 gives good machining and dimensional-stability performance while keeping tool weight and cost under control. A 20-lb. version, FR-10720, gives similar performance while providing greater material savings, especially where strength property requirements do not call for the 30-lb. version. Excellent machining characteristics allow good surface quality and low cutting-tool wear. The availability of large sheet sizes reduces the need for bondlines. This material has already been used with success in large aircraft and aerospace manufacturing operations. Supported by General Plastics Manufacturing Company’s excellent production capabilities and quality system, users can be assured of consistent properties and results. |
