LAST-A-FOAMŪ TF-5070-series foam is available in 9 to 15 lbs/cubic foot density. Each of these foams demonstrate relatively "flat" load-deflection curves, which means they absorb energy while exposing delicate parts to consistent lower-level stresses. In aerospace applications LAST-A-FOAMŪ TF-5070-series and EF-4000 foams have both been used extensively as "spring-damper" shock isolation systems to protect missiles in underground silos and nuclear submarine launch tubes. Minuteman, Peacekeeper, and Trident programs all have used these foams. In construction applications, LAST-A-FOAMŪ TF-5070 foams have been used as shock-isolation systems for earthquake-prone buildings and vibration-damper pads for mechanical equipment. A related product, LAST-A-FOAMŪ TF-6070, is available for those applications where flame-retardant foam is not required. This material has slightly different physical property and performance characteristics (when compared to TF-5070). Please contact General Plastics Manufacturing Company for more details on this foam product. |
