FR-4500 Tooling Board is a tough, high-density polyurethane tooling and modeling product intended for use in models, prototypes, mold and foundry patterns, mold-tooling and fixtures, and in composite mold applications where a uniform, grain-free, dimensionally stable substrate is desired.
This economical material, available in a wide range of densities and sheet sizes, has excellent machining characteristics. No tool-damaging fillers are used in FR-4500 Tooling Board, allowing use of HSS cutters. Special formulation allows the creation of shavings--not dust--when FR-4500 Tooling Board is machined, and an anti-static additive makes shavings fall to the floor for easy clean-up.
A superior, fine cell-structure allows easy finishing with almost any coating system. FR-4500 Tooling Board can also be bonded with a wide variety of adhesive systems. Sheets are dimensionally stable, free of warp or bow. Each density is color coded for easy identification. Product densities up to 50 lbs. per cubic foot allow users to match the right material to job requirements, while controlling costs.
Its higher heat-deflection- temperature rating makes it suitable for use in vacuum-forming applications where other urethane products may soften or deform.
Product Advantages and Benefits:
- Special formulation allows creation of shavings when material is machined
- Anti-Static additive causes shavings and particles to fall to floor--no dust in the air!
- Excellent consistency and uniformity throughout entire mass of material
- Fine cell-structure allows easy finishing with almost any resin or coating system
- No glass-bead fillers to damage cutting tools--this material cuts with HSS cutters!
- Reliable dimensional stability
- No warp or bow in sheets
- Large sheets (up to 48" x 80"), thick sheets (up to 12") available
- Five densities available, up to 50 lbs. per cu. Ft.--match the right density to the job
- Each density color-coded for easy identification
