Sturdy Last-A-Foam components make possible a non-lethal flash-bang device used to stun and distract hostage-takers during law-enforcement rescue activities. Precise control of foam density and careful engineering of machined-part configurations allow Last-A-Foam products to perform reliably in this application. This device is used most frequently to create a large burst of noise and light in a confined space. The energy released in the explosion of the device is sufficient to disrupt the thought and movement of individuals close by, without causing any fragmentation-wounds. Upon detonation, the foam components of this "flash-bang" turn to harmless dust. The plastic detonator and metal handle assembly are kicked free of the device before the main charge explodes, ensuring no fragmentation of the parts. Yet, at the same time, the device resists all the jolt-and-jumble and environmental-resistance requirements for a field-deployable item used by police, SWAT, military, and Special Forces personnel. Reports from the field indicate the device is effective when used as recommended. |
